Good spa & hot spring days fill up weeks ahead and the great ones go first. Below: the 15 to book early, what each includes and how they differ.
Spend a full day at Sky Lagoon, minutes from downtown Reykjavík, with warm geothermal water, North Atlantic views, and a seven-step Icelandic ritual. Choose shared SAMAN changing rooms or private SÉR facilities, then add drinks or food at the on-site café and bar.

Ride from Reykjavik’s BSI terminal to Hvammsvík, where several natural hot pools sit beside the sea beneath mountain views. Your English-speaking driver handles the transfer, while you get time for warm pools, a steam room, cold sea water, and the on-site restaurant.

Drive yourself to Thingvellir for a small-group Silfra snorkel with a PADI instructor, dry suit, warm undersuit, hot chocolate, and cookies. Then drive to Laugarvatn Fontana for geothermal pools, saunas, and a steam room. Guides such as Sara, Quim, and Konrad are known for careful safety support.

Spend 1.5 hours to a full day at Hvammsvik Hot Springs, 45 minutes from Reykjavik. Choose classic admission or comfort admission with a towel, wading shoes, and one drink. Expect seven warm pools, ocean access, a steam room, changing facilities, and striking mountain views.

Spend a full day with an English-speaking guide such as Elias, Siddi, Axel, or Christina, visiting Hveragerði, Kerið, Gullfoss, Geysir, and Þingvellir before soaking at Hvammsvík Hot Springs. Transport, Wi-Fi, USB charging, crater entry, and spa admission are included.

Ride from Reykjavík to Hvammsvík Hot Springs, soak for about 2.5 hours in several geothermal pools beside Hvalfjörður, and return by bus. You get dramatic coastal scenery, a swim-up bar, restaurant, and the option of a bracing fjord cold plunge. Guides may include Carlos, Briosh, or Eiríkur.

Leave Reykjavik by private car for Sky Lagoon, a modern geothermal spa with ocean views, warm water, sauna, steam room, swim-up bar, and the seven-step ritual. Choose shared or private changing facilities, then return to your hotel after about three hours.

Spend about nine hours touring Iceland’s Golden Circle by bus, with stops at Þingvellir, Geysir, and Gullfoss before relaxing at Fontana’s geothermal baths. Guides such as Eric, Margret, Lasma, and Dylan add local insight, while hot-spring-baked rye bread gives the day a tasty finish.

The sight seeing stops were absolutely gorgeous despite the cloudy weather. The minibus was clean and very comfortable. We had an almost full group (18 people, I believe) and each stop had plenty of time to wander around and see things, as well as multiple opportunities for eating and some souvenir shopping. This tour was a great trip and so worth the money!”
Leave Reykjavík early for Landmannalaugar with Arctic Yeti, hike toward Brennisteinsalda with a certified English, Spanish, or Italian-speaking guide, and soak in a natural hot spring afterward. The small group is limited to 16 people, with WiFi and round-trip transport included.

You’ll leave Reykjavík at 8:30 for a 10-hour guided outing to Langjökull Glacier. Ride a snowmobile for about an hour, travel by specially built truck, stop around the Geysir area, then soak for 1.5 hours at the Secret Lagoon near Flúðir. A driver’s license is required.

Spend up to 10 hours touring West Iceland from Reykjavík, with a guided walk through Viðgelmir Lava Cave, stops at Hraunfossar, Barnafoss, Glanni, Deildartunguhver, and Reykholt. English-speaking guides such as Filip, Walter, Colin, and Thor lead groups of up to 19 people.

Ride with a professional driver and guide to Hjálparfoss, Háifoss, Bláhylur, and Landmannalaugar. You get an easy guided hike through lava fields and rhyolite hills, plus time in a natural hot spring. Guides have included HBO, Roman, Tom, Mia, Beggi, and Sarah.
“Our guide was great and a skilled driver. However, the trip got off to a rocky start because we had to wait an extra 45 minutes for our bus. The bus wasn’t available and someone called out sick, so there was no driver and an alternate had to be called in. Once we got on the road, it was nice.”
Meet your small group at Silfra in Thingvellir National Park for a guided snorkel in a drysuit or wetsuit, with underwater GoPro photos. Then use your reserved Sky Lagoon entry for a seven-step hot-and-cold ritual. Guides may include Anil, Dory, Doris, or Jane.

Spend 11 hours touring Iceland’s Golden Circle by minibus, with stops at Eilífur Geyser, Kerið Crater, Gullfoss, Strokkur, and Þingvellir.
